Students are required to comply with the following guidelines, regarding returning to school after a communicable disease. Examples of communicable diseases include: influenza, colds, pinkeye, strep throat, impetigo, etc.

With regard to fever and vomiting, students need to be 24 hours fever-free and vomit-free before returning to school.
In regard to head lice, it is not considered a communicable disease, a student may return to class after consultation with the school nurse.

Immunization Requirements

Written proof of adequate immunizations must be provided before a child attends school. If written documentation is not received within 5 days of the start of the school year, the student will be excluded from school Current PA School Immunization Requirements

Physical Exams

Physical exams are required for initial entry to school, grade 6 and grade 11. Written documentation must be provided to the school nurse PA Physical Form

Dental Exams

Dental exams are required for initial entry to school, grade 3, and grade 7. Written documentation must be provided to the school nurse PA Private Dental Form

Vision Screenings

Vision screenings will be completed annually for grades K-12. Notification will be sent home, if the student does not pass the exam.

Hearing Screenings

Hearing screenings will be completed annually in grade K-3, 7, 11, special education students and if indicated. Notification will be sent home, if the student does not pass the exam.

Height, Weight & BMI Screenings

Height, weight and BMI screenings will be obtained for grade K-12 annually.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis screenings will be completed for grades 6 & 7.
